Soft Tissue
Therapy

Your joints and spine get most of the attention in traditional chiropractic care. But muscles, fascia, tendons, and ligaments are equally responsible for how you move, how you feel, and how well your body holds up over time. When those tissues develop restrictions, adhesions, or chronic tension, the effects show up everywhere from reduced range of motion and persistent pain to poor movement patterns and recurring injuries.

At The Resilience Lab, soft tissue therapy is an integral part of how we treat. We use a targeted combination of techniques chosen based on what your tissue actually needs, not a one-size approach. The goal is to break up restrictions, restore normal function, and get your body moving freely and without compensation.

AT A GLANCE

WHAT IT TREATS

Muscle tightness, adhesions, scar tissue, fascial restrictions, overuse patterns, poor tissue mobility

TECHNIQUES

Cupping, IASTM, Active Release Technique, Myofascial Release, Scraping

HOW IT'S USED

Integrated into your session alongside chiropractic and dry needling, never used in isolation.

WHO BENEFITS

Anyone carrying chronic tension, dealing with an overuse injury, or recovering from training or a physical demand.

THE TECHNIQUES

What we use and why it works.

Each technique targets soft tissue dysfunction from a different angle. Used together and integrated with the rest of your care, they produce results that neither chiropractic adjustments nor soft tissue work alone can achieve.

CUPPING

Negative pressure cups are applied to the skin to lift and separate tissue layers, increase blood flow, and break up adhesions that build up from training, repetitive stress, or old injuries. Particularly effective for tight backs, shoulders, hips, and legs. The temporary marks left by cupping are a normal response and indicate where the tissue was most restricted.

ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE

ART combines precise manual tension with controlled patient movement to break up adhesions and restore normal function in specific muscles, tendons, and other soft tissue structures. It's highly targeted and works exceptionally well for overuse injuries, nerve entrapments, and muscles that have shortened or lost their normal movement quality due to repetitive stress.

IASTM & SCRAPING

Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization uses specially designed stainless steel tools to detect and treat scar tissue, fascial restriction, and chronic tension that hands alone can't reach effectively. The tools allow for precise, targeted treatment of specific tissue layers and are highly effective for tendinopathies, scar tissue from old injuries, and areas of chronic restriction.

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE

Fascia is the connective tissue network that runs throughout the entire body, surrounding and connecting every muscle, bone, and organ. When it tightens or becomes restricted, the effects can show up far from the original site of dysfunction. Myofascial release uses sustained pressure and movement to release these restrictions, improve mobility, and reduce pain that seems to have no clear local cause.
