Functional
Wellness
What happens inside the treatment room matters. But so does everything outside of it. Sleep quality, nutrition, stress levels, daily movement habits, and what's actually going on inside your body at a biochemical level, these are some of the most significant factors determining how you heal, how you perform, and how you feel long term. If those factors are working against you, even the best clinical care has a ceiling.

Functional wellness at The Resilience Lab means we look at the full picture. Not just your pain or your injury, but the lifestyle and physiological context around it. We have honest, practical conversations about what's going on and help you understand what's worth addressing, including the option to dig deeper through functional lab testing when it makes sense.
WHAT WE LOOK AT
Sleep, nutrition, stress, movement habits, and functional lab markers when indicated
LAB TESTING
Ordered through us and processed externally. Results are reviewed and discussed as part of your care.
THE APPROACH
Practical and sustainable. We identify what's actually affecting your progress and give you tools to address it.
WHY IT MATTERS
Lifestyle and biochemical factors are often the reason people plateau despite doing everything else right.
THE FOUR PILLARS
What we actually look at.
These four factors are the most common lifestyle contributors to pain, slow recovery, and poor long-term health outcomes. Addressing them alongside clinical care is what separates good results from great ones.
SLEEP
Sleep is when your body does most of its repair work. Poor sleep quality or inadequate duration limits recovery, increases pain sensitivity, impairs hormone function, and reduces the adaptations your body needs to get stronger and healthier. We treat sleep as a clinical variable, not a lifestyle preference.
CHRONIC STRESS
Chronic stress keeps your system in a state that actively works against healing. It increases muscle tension, disrupts sleep, elevates inflammation, and slows recovery. It's one of the most underaddressed factors in musculoskeletal health and one of the most impactful when it's taken seriously.
NUTRITION
What you eat directly affects inflammation levels, tissue repair, energy, and how well your body responds to treatment and training. We have practical conversations about what your current nutrition is doing to support or undermine your goals, and what realistic adjustments are worth making.
MOVEMENT HABITS
How much you move throughout the day, how you move, and the variety in your movement patterns all influence how your body feels and functions. Prolonged sitting, repetitive postures, and a lack of movement variety are consistent contributors to the conditions we treat most often.
Functional lab testing.
When you need answers, not guesses.
Sometimes lifestyle conversations aren't enough to explain why someone isn't recovering the way they should, why they're always fatigued, why inflammation keeps coming back, or why their body just isn't responding the way it should. That's where functional lab testing comes in.

We offer the ability to order targeted lab panels that give us a clearer look at what's going on internally. Tests are ordered through us and processed externally, with results reviewed together so you actually understand what they mean and what to do about them. This isn't a fishing expedition. We order what's relevant to what you're dealing with and use the results to inform your care in a meaningful way.
